There is a growing prevalence of breast cancer among adolescents and young adults (AYAs) aged 15 to 39 years old, and people of color (POCs). Breast cancer tends to present as more advance and aggressive forms in both of these demographics and is unfortunately associated with higher mortality rates than other populations in whom mortality rates have been decreasing over the last few decades.

This activity highlights the current trends, challenges, and health disparities experienced by AYAs and POCs with breast cancer, and provides insight into possible ways of improving screening and overall management of these patients.

The Iowa Comprehensive Medical Cannabis Course Bundle has been approved by the Iowa Department of Public Health’s Office of Medical Cannabidiol. This comprehensive medical cannabis educational course bundle helps doctors, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists and dentists prepare to care for patients using cannabis-based products, including CBD.

The Iowa Comprehensive Medical Cannabis Course Bundle introduces the reader to the endocannabinoid system and its interaction with the components of the cannabis plant, and addresses various aspects of medical cannabis, including administration, therapeutic use, drug metabolism, physiologic and cognitive effects, potential risks, and drug interactions.

The use of marijuana in obstetric patients, pediatric patients, adolescent patients and elderly patients is discussed in detail. Important considerations for patients with ischemic heart disease, hepatic disease, psychotic illness, and those with a history of drug dependence are provided. This course bundle also addresses the use of cannabidiol (CBD) in clinical care, and the information will assist clinicians in effectively treating and counseling CBD consumers.

The physiological effects of CBD, CBD drug interactions, CBD’s side effects, and the conditions for which CBD has been shown by evidence-based clinical studies to be efficacious are all discussed in this course bundle.

Online Learning Modules
As a student, you’ll gain exclusive access to 23 online lecture modules, covering a broad spectrum of topics through detailed lectures and procedural videos. These modules form the theoretical foundation of our course and must be completed before attending the hands-on training session. The online format offers you the flexibility to study anytime, anywhere. Additionally, you can revisit the lectures and procedural videos as often as needed for an entire year.

Hands-On Skills Training
After completing the online modules, you’ll join an intensive, 10-hour-per-day, hands-on procedural training session for two days. This immersive weekend experience focuses 2ntirely on practicing hospital procedures through simulation-based training. Course Schedule
The course begins in the morning with a continental breakfast at 7:00 AM, followed by class at 7:45 AM. Breakfast and lunch are provided. The day concludes around 6:00 PM.
